In recognition of Earth Day, the A&WMA Upper Midwest Section is organizing a group volunteer event at the Minneapolis Earth Day Cleanup. We invite members, colleagues, friends, and families to join us!

Event: Minneapolis Earth Day Cleanup
Cleanup Site: Lake Harriet Park

Date: Saturday April 18 at 9:30 am

We will participate as a group at the Lake Harriet cleanup site, helping keep one of Minneapolis’s most loved parks clean and accessible for the community. 2026 Earth Day Cleanup is a drop-in volunteer activity. The site will have a coordinator to check us in, distribute equipment, and provide instructions. Cleanup activities typically include litter removal, shoreline cleanup, and general park beautification. The clean-up wraps up at noon, but you are welcome to volunteer for any amount of time that fits your schedule. 

Post‑Cleanup Gathering:

Following the cleanup, those interested are invited to gather informally at a food truck near the Lake Harriet Bandshell for refreshments and snacks and a chance to connect with fellow A&WMA members. This post‑cleanup gathering is weather dependent, and details will be shared closer to the event.
